Based on the manga of the same name, My Hero Academia is an anime series about Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without a 'quirk', or superpower, in a world where most humans possess such superpowers. After one of the world's greatest heroes is injured, he passes his quirk, 'One For All', to Izuku after witnessing his courage. Soon after Izuku is enrolled at the prestigious U.A. High School, where he commences his superhero training.
The first episode aired in 2016 in Japan, and internationally the following year. The series has enjoyed positive reception from both Japanese and international audiences.
