Magikarp, the Fish Pokémon. It can be found swimming in seas, lakes, rivers and shallow puddles, only capable of flopping and splashing. Whoever its opponent, and however horrible the attack it receives, all it does is Splash around. This behaviour prompted scientists to undertake research into it. Because all Magikarp seem to do is splash around, some consider them weak, but they're actually a hardy Pokémon that can survive in water no matter how dirty it is. Famous for being very unreliable, in the distant past it was somewhat stronger than the horribly weak descendants that exist today. It may jump high on rare occasions, but never more than seven feet. Its reckless leaps make it easy pickings for predators, and they are considered a delicacy around the world.
Gyarados. The evolved form of Magikarp. Rarely seen in the wild. Once it appears, it goes on a rampage. It remains enraged until it demolishes everything around it. Can fire a Hyper Beam from its mouth. Its fangs can crush stones and its scales are harder than steel. Huge and vicious, it is capable of destroying entire cities in a rage, so use extreme caution. They say that during past wars, Gyarados would appear and leave blazing ruins in its wake. When Magikarp evolves into Gyarados, its brain cells undergo a structural transformation. It is said that this transformation is to blame for this Pokémon's wildly violent nature.
