The Rubik's Cube is a 3D combination puzzle, played by turning the sides of the cube to match the colours on each surface. It was invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik and has gone down as one of the most captivating puzzles of the late 20th century. Originally named the 'Magic Cube', Rubik's Cube is widely considered to be the world's best-selling toy.
The 3x3 format is by far the most popular, but many other formats have also been made. Since 2003, the World Cube Association, the Rubik's Cube's international governing body, has organised competitions worldwide and recognises world records. Crown & Andrew's Rubik's Cube is sure to hold out under all that practice in pursuit of a record - or just hours of puzzling towards a solution.
