Released in 1940, Fantasia represented Disney's boldest experiment to date. Bringing to life his vision of blending animated imagery with classical music. What had begun as a vehicle to enhance Mickey Mouse's career blossomed into a full-blown feature that remains unique in the history of animation.
Who can forget the scene when Mickey puts on the Sorcerers hat and tries some magic on a broom? After commanding the broom to carry buckets of water to fill a cauldron and is satisfied with his 'hard work', he sits down and has a nap! But what might happen if the brooms don't stop?
This Pop! features Mickey Mouse as he appeared in the segment The Sorcerer's Apprentice, based on the poem of the same name by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The music was written specifically for the story by composer Paul Dukas. This version features an artistic render of the night sky from Mickey's dream.
