Batman is a dark and brooding hero with a personal vendetta against crime and injustice. He is extremely pessimistic and suspicious, which often makes it difficult for him to trust people other than Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, the Robins or the Batgirls. Despite this, Batman has proved to have a great love for humanity, which was instilled by his parents. Indeed, Batman's oath of vengeance is tempered with the greater ideal of justice. He refrains from killing, as he feels this would not make him any better than the criminals he fights.
From orphaned circus daredevil Dick Grayson to troubled teen Jason Todd to the overachieving Tim Drake, the mask of Robin is now worn by Bruce Wayne’s own son Damian—a rebellious troublemaker who’s been trained by assassins since birth. With a lethal skill set and a marginal sense of mercy, Robin no longer needs Batman to protect him from criminals.
